You got schooled, dude.

Welcome all! This is a guest post featured over at the uber-fabulous Kiersten White's blog, www.kierstenwrites.blogspot.com. Her book, PARANORMALCY, comes out in September and it's going to be just like her: frigging ah-mazing. Thanks for stopping by!

You forgot the Marie Criddle Super Awesome Formula for Determining Literariness of a Novel(TM).

Also -- of course there are unicorns! When are there not unicorns with you?

Another lovely post. And it's in stereo, because I read Kiersten's blog too!

Hmmm, I was actually thinking of getting one of these so I could teach, but... 15 page papers on Victorian poetry?...

my mom keeps telling me i don't need "a piece of paper" to be a writer. Um, I guess I could use the computer, and e-books are getting more and more popular, but traditionally, books ARE made of ink and...ahem...PAPER. But I digress (hey, look! I just used one of my most loath-ed phrases in writing. focus, robin, focus. Oh right. sorry).

I'm going to school and reaching for the piece of paper for ALL the reasons on the PROs list. And because I'd go back anyway, I might as well learn about stuff that will help me in my writing, right? In any case, I'm not waiting for THAT piece of paper before I start writing. I've got lots of blank pages sitting around, just begging to be blackened. Bwaahaahaa!

Awwww, I love you peeps. Thanks, as always, for reading.

Serious, 'bina, I hear you. Some of the best writers out there don't have the "piece of paper"... but it kept my nose to the grindstone, so to speak. And you know me, I have a really hard time keeping my nose to anything.

And like you say, Empress Awesome (related to Captain Awesome of "Chuck" fame? Dude, I love him) I mainly got my MFA so I can teach...but nowadays it takes an MFA PLUS published books, or just a PhD. JUST a PhD. Mua ha ha. Therefore, I just keep writing.

giggle. In stereo. I totally heart you, fairy.

And Jamie, once my unicorn has babies, I'll totally adopt one out to you.

Cheers!

Ay-dorable. I hope you sent the unicorn to beat the *bleep* out of that mean teacherperson.

That'll teach her.

I love Wentworth Miller!!! You're so funny, Marie. You make me laugh OUT-LOUD! Except, next time don't just draw an alien stick figure of Wenty. Do the man justice.

This was awesome! I just graduated with an MFA and I totally agree with this list. But it was worth all the cons for me.
