New Year's resolutions and goals! CRAP AM I LATE?

So the art blog is here: BRUSH QUIBBLIES
And the mildly unfocused book tumblr is here: MIND GRAPES

Enjoy! Thanks as always for reading!

My goal for the year (and hopefully every year after) is just 50 books. More than that is fine, but 50 is the goal. I've read 27 so far! :)

Good luck with your resolutions!

My goal for books is to read whatever I've got. So far, I'm doing okay.

As for another un-new year's goal? My goal today is to watch Pirates 4, to love my wife if Pirates 4 scares her, and to withstand the ire of my teenage daughter when she finds out I saw Pirates 4 without her.

This post was awesome, especially because I read it on my phone, so I got the awesome scrolling effect of the legs debacles. It was awesome. Did I say "awesome" enough yet?

And unicorn legs are super hard. So impressive. I'm curious, what books were your favorites? And best of luck with the new challenge! I tried that, once, and failed... But it can be totally be done! Pascal Campion is proof! :)

I'm excited for your resolution, because your drawings slay me!

And holy demanding resolution you had! 100 books in a year is one every 3 1/2 days. Two books a week! That's a lot. Heck, 62 in a year is a lot! That's less than six days a book.

I <3 randomness, so I'll jump on board with your random resolution day. Reading, writing, art, arithmetic... I'm going to go with the easiest. I solemnly vow to do one math problem a day for the next year. Oh, look! I already got today's in! Yay me!

(I swear I'm not cheating. Just because I help kids with math for a living 180 days a year... I mean, there's still 185 days I don't. Oh, look! Another math problem score for me! I am totally gonna nail this resolution.)

Kristan - Woohoo! 27 is GREAT! I think I'm going to stick with 50 this year myself. :) Good luck to you, too!

Adam - AW, YAY PIRATES! Good luck in turning away the wrath of your daughter! I've seen Teen Girl Squad...they can be scary. :D (Just kidding; yours is probably a delight.)

L.T. - I was SO hoping that would work for someone!! AWESOME.

Sarah - Thank you so much for reading! My funny looking legs and I are most flattered. I have to say a few of my favorites were (in no particular order):

INTO THE WILD NERD YONDER by Julie Halpern (nerdy! so nerdy!)

LEVIATHAN by Scott Westerfeld (with amazing illustrations by Keith Thompson)

LIPS TOUCH THREE TIMES by Laini Taylor (the language! So beautiful it burns!)

WINTER'S BONE by Daniel Woodrell (I ache when I think of a good way, of course.)

THE MAGICIANS by Lev Grossman (It's Harry Potter for angsty college kids!)

Oh, gosh...I liked so many! How long can I make my own comment? Again, Sarah, thanks for stopping by!

And Peggy - Woohoo for random resolution day! And I have to say, that was one IMPRESSIVE math problem. I fully support this endeavor! (Yours sounds harder than mine.)

Forgot to add: love the Chthulhu reference :-)

Adam - hee hee, thanks. It doesn't make much sense if it's translated as "dreaming" but I always thought fhtagn meant "waits"...close enough. I'm no Cthulhu scholar.

Just thought you should know... this may be your best idea yet. I'm so excited for the next 365 days. I think that will be my goal... to look at your sketches every day. :)

Gosh. Thought I had the goals down. A book a week, 1000 words a day, seven smiles an hour. Now this blog goes on the list!!! LOVE IT!!!! (Glad Nathan directed me this way.)

Good luck on YOUR goals!!

Hey Marie, nice job so far on the drawing-per-day! And thanks for the kind mention -- I was going to leave you a comment on the other blog, but it looks like maybe you have comments disabled? At any rate, keep up the great work!

Aw, Jolee B for baby, you're the coolest. And Bryce, thank you so much for stopping by!!

And Charles THANK YOU for telling me! It's (hopefully) fixed now. Blogger and I have a longstanding feud over this particular blog. (shaky fist)
