The reason I need the Zelda cartoons on DVD

I love educating my kids like that. But it gets a little sad when they're old enough to form their own opinions.

Also, some people have ruined things. I'll never forget the time we went through all six Star Wars movies (chronologically, of course), and near the end of A New Hope, our tween daughter said, "Dad, how come Obi Wan can't fight anymore?"

As always, love this! I'm especially a fan of knowing that I'm not the only one who eats nothing but marshmallows and grapes!! :)

Lol. If this is how parenting works, then my kids will be watching Sailor Moon, Fushigi Yugi, Star Trek (TNG, DS9, and VOY) and pretty much every Disney movie ever.

Best reason to have kids: reliving your childhood. :) OR, what you WISH your childhood was. All those cool toys I never got as a kid? My kids own and I played. All in the name of quality family time, of course.

P.S. Your disclaimers slayed me! All of them.

Adam - Aww! To see Obi Wan as Ewan McGregor turned old rather than Alec Guiness made young would kind of blow my mind. I don't know what I'll do if Savin shows no interest in sci-fi whatsoever.

Jolee - YOU HAVE THE MAGIC CRAVINGS, TOO? Seriously...marshmallows and grapes were ALL I ate for a long time. People think I'm joking. I AM NOT.

Kristan - I really hope our kids can hang out one day. She's already watched more Star Trek than I have my entire teen years! And Sailor Moon! You'll be a RAD mom one day.

Peggy - Totally! Yes! We never ever had video game systems growing up and I can't wait until Savin's old enough to justify getting a Wii. :D Maybe I can justify now...before Christmas. :D FHE FTW!

"Look and see her, how she sparkles, it's the last unicorrrrrrn..."

I love nearly all the things you mentioned (COMMUNITY!!!!), but have never seen Sailor Moon. And I own like a gazillion animated movies. Do I have a kid to justify it? Nope. Maybe my dogs would appreciate 101 Dalmations...

In fact, my hubby and I are (as I type) watching "Batman: Year One" - which is, you guessed it, animated.

Haha! I still have my copy of The Last Unicorn on VHS--I was just thinking my daughter might enjoy it.

And even though she's only 4, she LOVES Star Trek. (And she loves the Rascals episode too, by the way.) My evil plan to make her into a Mini-Me is on track!

Christine - Dude, I owned PLENTY of animated movies before I even considered kids! (And I'm sure I would still be getting them even without baby's approval. Mua ha ha.) But you guys have to watch Sailor Moon. At least a few episodes, just for the experience of it. It's no Batman but it IS...well, Sailor Moon. :)

Stephanie - Your daughter sounds like the COOLEST. Anyone who can appreciate the awesomeness of "Rascals" is a good one in my book. :)

They made a MOVIE of The Last Unicorn? Where was I?

I raise a hoof for "My Little Pony"!

Would you like me to send you your "Sailor Moon" costume? Ha!

Jenny - They did and it was AMAAAAZING (when I was 8)

Mom - Yes, please. No really. I could get mad respect for it here.

Oh man-o-live we watched some ridiculously inspiring film. I've brainwashed my kids into liking Thundercats (ho!) and Jem. Best stuff ever!
