That's the problem with Apple products: they're normally so stable, they lull you into a false sense of security. What you need is a computer that crashes all the time. (Like mine!). Nothing like an ever-present fear of a BSOD to train you to save often!

I'm sorry for your data loss.

I feel your pain, love bucket. Our home server is kaput. In about $400 and a week, I'll be able to get my data back. Unless my resident nerd can work his tech-magic and find another way to retrieve all our stuff, we can't do a whole lot of anything without a new server. Eight computers in the house and my MS is inaccessible. There's something horribly wrong with that.

Oh no...buckets o' TURDS indeed! I live in such terror of computer meltdown. My pockets are filled with flash drives and "the cloud" is my friend.

I'm dreadfully sorry for your loss. May stink rain down on the turdy-head devices that defy us!

Aww... {hug}

The "Y/N" in the title made me smile / took me down memory lane, btw.

Oh my gosh, you guys are the best. I'm glad I'm not the only one who fears and hates her computer overlord but still can't live without him. "He may manipulate my mind and erase everything I hold dear but by Jove he plays CHESS!"

Hugs right back at you rad people.

Oh! Cry! Nothing like that feeling in your gut when you lose so much work! (Except maybe food poisoning. That's kind of the same feeling.)

Good thing there's punchdancing.

And ice cream.

Also: I miss you! How the heck are you? (You know. The non turd-bucket parts. ;))

Peggy - YES, ICE CREAM. LOTS (sob) AND LOTS.

And I miss you too! Life is settling down post-holidays again...will be emailing you soon!! :D

:/ The punch dance is the universal dance of hysterical writers everywhere, usually when they've just lost hours of work to a faulty computer.

Well, then there are those writers who drop to their knees and shake their fists at the sky while they weep. But in my experience that's usually when the writer loses a WHOLE book.

Either one is a case for tears. I feel your pain. *pats back*
